The Atomos Shinobi 7 II is a 7-inch on-camera monitor with 2,800 nits peak brightness, on-device calibration and 10GbE Ethernet camera control, so you can accurately read Log and HDR signals even in direct sunlight.

Atomos Shinobi 7 II

The Atomos Shinobi 7 II is a 7-inch on-camera monitor for videographers and cinematographers who need accurate on-set monitoring. With a peak brightness of 2,800 nits, it is the brightest display in the Shinobi range, letting you read Log, HLG and PQ signals in virtually any lighting condition, including direct sunlight. Compared to the 5-inch Shinobi II, the screen is larger and nearly twice as bright.

The IPS touchscreen supports the BT.2020, DCI-P3, DCI-P3 D65 and Rec.709 colour spaces, and you can calibrate it on-device without needing a computer. The monitoring toolset is comprehensive: false color, EL Zone, waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, focus peaking, zebras, anamorphic de-squeeze and frame guides are all included. Custom 3D LUT and 1D LUT files in .cube format can be loaded via the built-in SD card reader.

The 10GbE Ethernet port is a notable addition over the Shinobi II. It allows you to control cameras that do not support USB-C camera control, such as the Canon C50, C80, C100 and Sony FX5 and FX6. HDMI in and out support up to 4K30; SDI is absent, which the first-generation Shinobi 7 still had. If you need SDI or built-in wireless reception, the Shinobi 7 RX is the next step up in the line.

For power, you can choose between USB-C Power Delivery, Sony NP-F batteries or an optional DC battery eliminator. This makes it flexible for use on location, even without a nearby power outlet.
