GoPro MISSION 1 PRO ILS + Laowa 17mm F/1.8
With this set, you combine the GoPro MISSION 1 Pro ILS with the LAOWA 17mm f/1.8, a compact and fast lens for Micro Four Thirds. The ILS has a Micro Four Thirds mount, so the lens fits the camera without an adapter. Because of the 1" sensor (crop factor about 2.7), 17mm on the ILS is equivalent to about 46mm on full frame, a natural angle of view for interviews, street footage and details.
The lens has a manual aperture ring and manual focus. You control everything on the lens itself, so the ILS doesn't need electronic contacts to use it.
GoPro MISSION 1 Pro ILS
The GoPro MISSION 1 Pro ILS is a compact mirrorless cinema camera for filmmakers and creators who want to combine the ruggedness and image quality of the MISSION 1 Pro with interchangeable lenses. Via the Micro Four Thirds mount, you can use MFT lenses with manual focus, and many more with adapters.
At its core is a 50 megapixel 1" sensor with the GP3 processor. You shoot video up to 8K60 Open Gate (4:3), 4K up to 240fps and Full HD up to 960fps for smooth slow motion. HyperSmooth image stabilisation works in-camera with rectilinear lenses with a fixed focal length. You take photos at 50 megapixels with RAW output.
On the back is a 2.59" OLED touchscreen, on the front a 1.4" colour display. With the GoPro Quik app, GPS, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi, you connect the camera to your smartphone. The Enduro 2 battery (2150 mAh) charges from 0 to 80% via USB-C in about 27 minutes. The camera is not waterproof: underwater you need a separate housing. The ILS has no autofocus.
Venus Optics LAOWA 17mm f/1.8 for MFT
The Venus Optics LAOWA 17mm f/1.8 is a compact prime lens for Micro Four Thirds. With f/1.8 you capture plenty of light, which is handy in low light and for a blurred background. The aperture has 7 blades for smooth bokeh, and the optical design has 9 elements in 7 groups.
With a minimum focusing distance of 15 centimetres, you can also capture details up close. The lens weighs 172 grams and has a 46 millimetre filter thread. This keeps it below the 250 grams above which GoPro recommends extra support.
