With the JJC Tamron Lens Hood DA18, you prevent too much sunlight from entering your lens. When shooting in bright sunlight, reflections inside your lens can overexpose your photos. Backlight can also cause lens flare in your shots. A lens hood counters this by blocking light in the right places, without appearing in the frame itself. A lens hood also offers protection for your front lens.
