If you are looking for the perfect partner for hunting wild boar at night, or for stalking even-toed game during the day, the Leica 50512 Calonox 2 View LRF thermal camera is the ideal choice. Designed and made in Germany, it convinces users with numerous, perfectly matched practical functions and a fully integrated laser range finder (LRF), which can be activated very easily on the device or via an optional remote control. Operation is simplified thanks to the ergonomic and compact shape, intuitive operation and quick mechanical selection of day/night mode. The optimised eye relief ensures a better viewing experience - and more comfortable use in daylight, thanks to the brighter adjustable display in day mode.
The LYNRED European sensor, together with Leica's proven image processing software (Leica Image Optimization - LIO), ensures even sharper images, richer in contrast and detail. Electronic colour filters and six individually adjustable colour modes support and optimise the user experience.
Hunters and nature observers can count on natural, sharp and contrast-rich images, thanks to the high-quality LYNRED sensor and processing software further refined by Leica (LIO - Leica Image Optimization). With a sampling rate of 60 Hertz, panning of the device results in a smooth image. Similarly, video recordings of moving objects are possible without annoying interruptions.
Four eyes see more than two: with the Leica 2Hunt app, a wireless connection can be established between the thermal camera and a smartphone or tablet. In addition to controlling the photo/video function, the Live View function allows a second person to simultaneously follow what the observer sees through the Leica Calonox 2 View LRF while hunting or monitoring wildlife (e.g. counting rabbits or birds) or when searching for missing persons. This allows the second person to provide additional support day and night.
With a high-quality sensor from LYNRED, the Leica Calonox 2 View LRF is state-of-the-art for hunters and wildlife observers. The sensor has a size of 640x480 pixels and a pixel spacing of 12 µm. This guarantees a sharp image, rich in contrast and detail. In addition, Leica's thermal cameras feature a software-based shutter. This enables silent and instant recalibration - without freezing the image.
The generous micro-OLED display (1280 x 960 pixels) offers brilliant image sharpness and excellent image performance. Pixel binning ensures pleasant, distortion-free observation, thanks to improved light capture with reduced image noise. The 42 mm lens with its large field of view provides optimum viewing comfort, excellent overview of the surroundings and fast target acquisition.
With the 2.5x basic optical magnification and up to 4x digital zoom, objects with the standard size of 1.8 metres can be found clearly up to 2210 metres. Recognition is possible at 770 metres and reliable identification at 390 metres.
To complement the new Calonox 2, the Leica 2Hunt app in typical Leica design is now available for smartphones and tablets free of charge. Thermal camera and mobile device are quickly and easily paired via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Various camera settings can then be easily controlled and adjusted directly in the app. Images and videos captured by the device can also be viewed and downloaded via the app. With the launch of the Calonox 2 View devices, the first update adds a Live View function that allows sharing images with friends and other devices, starting and stopping video recording and capturing images - all on a mobile device, using the app .
