The Panasonic 50mm F1.4 L-Mount lens has a large aperture, a focal length that is considered 'standard' for the full-frame format, it offers astonishingly high resolution and incredible sharpness from the center to the corner, even when the lens is used wide open. The optical design and the use of an 11-blade iris ensure a beautifully smooth focus transition and exceptionally attractive bokeh.

The lens construction consists of 13 elements in 11 groups. 2 aspherical lenses and 3 extra-low dispersion lenses are also used to prevent chromatic aberrations and to guarantee an excellent resolution from center to corner.
