Reliable Autofocus and Stabilisation
The redesigned image sensor supports, for the first time in the LUMIX line-up, hybrid phase-detection autofocus. The hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection with contrast detection for fast and reliable focus. The new system can easily recognise subjects even in challenging conditions, such as low-light situations. Once focus is locked, it continues to track the subject across the frame. Continuous autofocus is also available when zooming in, as well as AF micro adjustments.
The LUMIX S5 II features significantly improved image stabilisation, allowing you to capture stable, sharp shots even when shooting handheld. Active image stabilisation is particularly useful in challenging conditions, such as when using a telephoto lens or filming while walking. The active image stabilisation also ensures very stable video footage by optimising horizontal, vertical, and rotational correction.
Exceptional Video Performance
This mirrorless camera offers exceptional video performance comparable to the LUMIX S1H. You can record in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30fps, and 4:2:2 C4K/4K at 60fps. Recording in High Frame Rate is straightforward, with up to 120fps and slow motion up to 180fps. Various colour profiles are available, including 14+ stop V-Log and V-Gamut. Support for a REAL TIME LUT function means you can upload colour correction LUTs to an SD card and apply them directly in-camera rather than in post-production. For professional videographers, features such as Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope, and Zebra Pattern have been added. Features like System Frequency (24.00Hz) and Synchro Scan also make this camera suitable for professional use.

The Panasonic LUMIX S 18mm f/1.8 is a super wide-angle lens with an angle of view of 100°. Thanks to this wide angle of view, this lens is suitable for a variety of applications, including landscape, astrophotography, and architectural photography. In addition, the minimum focusing distance of 0.18 metres opens up more possibilities for close-up shots. The optical construction consists of 13 lens elements in 12 groups, including three aspherical lenses, three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses, one UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens, and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens. The three aspherical lenses deliver superior image performance, while the three ED lenses suppress chromatic aberration. Furthermore, the wide aperture of f/1.8 with nine aperture blades produces beautiful bokeh effects. The lens operates smoothly and quietly with the camera's fast autofocus system, as the digital signal between the camera and lens is exchanged at up to 240fps. When focusing manually, the focus point shifts by a variable amount in the non-linear mode, depending on the speed at which the focus ring is turned. In linear mode, the focus point shifts by a fixed amount depending on how far the focus ring is turned. When recording video, a mechanism within the lens suppresses focus breathing. Combined with micro-step aperture control, which allows exposure to be adjusted smoothly, this mechanism enables professional-quality video recording. Thanks to its compact design and low weight of 340 grams, the LUMIX S 18mm f/1.8 is easy to take anywhere. The robust, dust- and splash-resistant design can even withstand harsh conditions down to -10 degrees Celsius.
