The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the normal zoom range. The hybrid zoom function uses both the optical and crop zoom to extend the focal length even further.
The Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 is a prime lens with a large maximum aperture of f/1.8 suitable for the L-mount system. This lens is the second addition of four lenses in the Lumix S series that are the same size and have the same position of the controls, which is very practical to use. The optical construction of the Lumix S 50mm f/1.9 consists of nine lens elements in eight groups, including three aspherical lenses, an ED (Extra Low Dispersion) lens and a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens.
