Extend your reach with crop and hybrid zoom

The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the normal zoom range. The hybrid zoom function uses both the optical and crop zoom to further increase the focal length.

The wide viewing angle at 20mm makes this lens ideal for locations where space is limited and 60mm is ideal for portraits, for example. The Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 has a minimum focusing distance of only 15 centimetres and you can also capture smooth video images without any problems. This is made possible by a mechanism that ensures suppression of focus breathing. The optical construction consists of 11 lenses in 9 groups and the use of two aspherical lenses and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses suppresses both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration due to magnification. The aspherical lenses also correct for astigmatism, resulting in extremely clear images. In addition, a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens ensures uniform image quality from the centre to the edges of the image. This lens is easy to carry due to its weight of only 350 grams and the design is also dust and splash-proof. A fluorine coating on the front element repels water and oil and prevents these substances from adhering to the lens.
