The Sony A6400 is an EISA award-winning camera featuring fast autofocus of just 0.02 seconds, improved Eye Autofocus, and newly developed Real-time Tracking. It is equipped with a 24.2 MP APS-C sensor Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor, ensuring high-quality photos and videos.

The A6400 features a 180-degree tiltable screen with Touch Focus, Touch Shutter, and Touch Pad AF, allowing you to select your desired focus point and control the camera with ease. The 425 contrast-AF points and contrast-detection AF cover 84% of the frame, providing reliable focus and tracking even on moving subjects. The camera uses artificial intelligence (AI)-based subject recognition to detect and process eye data in real time, delivering excellent accuracy, speed, and tracking performance with Eye AF. Subjects can also be locked on to via Real-time Tracking, which is likewise based on a new AI-driven subject recognition algorithm that processes colour, depth, and brightness as spatial information.

The Sony A6400 is also highly capable for video, as it can record in 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels). Thanks to Fast Hybrid AF technology, you can focus quickly and smoothly during filming. The α6400 also features an integrated HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile, supporting a direct HDR workflow so that HDR (HLG)-compatible TVs can play back true-to-life 4K HDR footage.

The Sony A6400 also offers eight customisable buttons, each of which can be assigned one of 89 functions to suit your preferences. Its magnesium alloy body is dust- and moisture-resistant, making it highly durable in use. With the Imaging Edge Mobile app, the camera can also be easily controlled via a smartphone or tablet. (Imaging Edge Mobile has been available since March 2019.)

Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II

The Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II is a lightweight lens with a versatile focal length of 16-50mm, making it suitable for all kinds of photography — from portraits to wide-angle shots.

The aperture range runs from f/3.5-5.6 to f/22-36. Seven rounded aperture blades produce beautiful bokeh. Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode keeps your images stable even during significant movement. This Mark II lens also continues to track your subject as you zoom. The minimum focusing distance is 25 centimetres.

The optical construction consists of nine elements in eight groups. One extra-low dispersion and four aspherical lens elements prevent unwanted distortion and reduce chromatic aberrations. A multi-coating further improves image quality.

Thanks to its light weight and compact form factor, this lens is also perfect for shooting on the go. It is even lighter than its predecessor, weighing just 107 grams. The retractable design makes it extra compact — the lens only extends when you switch the camera on.

Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS black (SEL55210B.AE)

The Sony SEL 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS NEX lens features extra-low dispersion glass, a wide zoom range, and an aluminium construction. On an APS-C sensor camera, this zoom lens offers an equivalent focal length of 82.5–315mm, making it well suited to event photography and portraits. An internal focusing system and a driven linear AF motor contribute to responsive yet quiet operation, while minimising mechanical noise. There is also a dedicated manual focus ring that enables a seamless transition from autofocus to manual focus. Two extra-low dispersion elements, combined with Sony's Optical SteadyShot (OSS) image stabilisation, improve image quality at the telephoto end of the zoom range — particularly when shooting in low-light conditions. OSS is capable of compensating for the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops. An aspherical focusing lens, positioned at the centre of the optical path, helps to prevent aberrations throughout the entire zoom range while improving the lens's AF response time.
