B.I.G. Servo trigger for Sony system flash guns
The B.I.G. Servo trigger for Sony system flash guns is a wireless flash trigger for activating Sony/Minolta clip-on flash guns. This flash trigger can be used to activate a compatible clip-on flash at distances of up to 20 metres. Compatible flash guns include almost all Sony/Minolta flash units (does not work with the Sony HVL-42AM). The flash trigger has a built-in sensor that responds to flashes from other flash guns. As soon as the flash trigger detects a corresponding flash, it activates the connected shoe-mount flash. Everything happens wirelessly. A possible source flash can be the pop-up flash of a camera.
Specially designed for flash guns without a built-in slave mode. The flash trigger is primarily intended for clip-on flash guns that have no built-in slave mode. It is also suitable for flash guns that cannot easily be triggered by firing in slave mode.
With a hot shoe for a clip-on flash and a sync port for a second flash. On top of the trigger there is a hot shoe for connecting the shoe-mount flash. The flash trigger also has a sync port to which a second flash can be connected using a suitable sync cable. The second flash can be another clip-on flash, a studio flash, or a handle-mount flash. It is also possible to leave the hot shoe unoccupied and connect only a flash via cable. This is useful if you want to use the flash trigger to activate a studio flash.
The flash trigger has a standard mounting foot with a 1/4-inch female thread on the underside. This means you can slide the flash trigger into a compatible accessory shoe, or mount it on a tripod using a 1/4-inch screw. Countless mini tripods, clamp tripods, and camera tripods have corresponding mounting screws.
The flash trigger does not support TTL. Flash exposure must be set manually on the flash unit.
