The Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II is a versatile and compact telephoto zoom lens that is well suited to portraits, sports and nature photography. When you mount the lens on a Nikon DX camera, it gives you an angle of view equivalent to that of an 82-300mm lens on a full frame 35mm digital camera. The Silent Wave Motor provides fast and quiet autofocus, while vibration reduction stabilises the optics inside the lens. This allows the user to set the camera's shutter speed up to 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. With Vibration Reduction you can expect sharper results when shooting in low light, recording HD video, or deliberately using long shutter speeds. Image quality is further ensured by Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass. This minimises optical distortion, while Super Integrated Coating reduces ghosting and lens flare, resulting in high contrast and vivid results, even in difficult lighting conditions. A maximum aperture range of f/4-5.6 combined with a rounded seven-blade diaphragm provides smooth out-of-focus areas.
