With the A6700 you always find the perfect composition. The AI-driven autofocus focuses accurately and quickly on your subject, both during photo and video recording. The autofocus recognises people, animals, birds, insects, cars, aeroplanes and even trains. You can quickly switch subjects while the camera focuses lightning-fast and precisely. The AI chip is so smart that it recognises human and animal subjects even with their back to the camera, so you never lose sight of your subject again. The autofocus range is very wide with 769 focus points, that is no less than 93% of the screen. You no longer have to worry about framing either: AI-based subject auto-framing ensures your subject always stays prominently in view.

Impressive frame rates

For filmmakers, the A6700 combines some of the best features of the Sony Cinema series. With the dial on the back you switch between photo and video mode in a flash. With the camera you can record razor-sharp videos at enormous frame rates. You film in 4K at 120 fps and in Full HD at a remarkable 240 fps. In all resolutions and frame rates you can record in 10-bit 4:2:2 for a stunning colour depth. For precise control over your recordings you can use S-Cinetone and S-Log3 image profiles or apply LUTs.

The aperture range is f/3.5-5.6 to f/22-36. Seven rounded aperture blades create a beautiful bokeh. Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode keeps your images stable, even during a lot of movement. This mark II lens also keeps tracking your subject while you zoom. The minimum focusing distance is 25 centimetres.

The optical construction consists of nine elements in eight groups. One extra-low dispersion and four aspherical lens elements prevent annoying distortions and reduce chromatic aberrations. A multi-coating further improves image quality.

The Sony FE 100-400mm f/5.6-8 OSS brings super telephoto range within reach of every photographer. The lens weighs just 654 grams, so you take an impressive telephoto range with you without your backpack getting heavier, ideal for wildlife, bird and travel photography.

Thanks to compatibility with the Sony 1.4x and 2x teleconverters (SEL14TC and SEL20TC), you extend the range as desired to 560mm or even 800mm, for those moments when subjects seem just out of reach. The adjustable focus limiter is particularly handy when you photograph through a fence or other obstacle, such as during a zoo visit or from the stands at a sports match: the lens then does not have to keep searching between foreground and background and keeps focusing effortlessly on your subject.
