Ultra, no-compromise precision means you'll never miss a frame again.
The new 24.6 megapixel stacked EXMOR RS CMOS sensor and the BIONZ XR processor boast superlative readout and processing power. Sony's pioneering global shutter technology ensures you don't have to compromise on speed or resolution. The groundbreaking combination of a global shutter, full frame sensor, speed and resolution sets a new standard for all professional cameras to come. The global shutter exposes the whole scene at once, and all pixels are read out at the same time. Warping or distortion of fast-moving subjects is a thing of the past. Nor is filming in high-speed environments a problem any more, as your image remains razor-sharp and in focus. Images are flicker-free, with no banding. There are no more colour or brightness variations between frames. The global shutter also provides flash synchronisation at any shutter speed without HSS, up to 1/80000s.
Shutter speeds of up to 1/80000s mean you can freeze any action, no matter how small. Speed Boost toggles to 120fps per second at the touch of a button, to ensure you capture every single moment. Shoot at 120fps with AF/AE without blackout, even in 14-bit RAW, at up to 6 GB/s. As your images are played back as video you can scroll through them in an instant, leaving you to choose your favourite frame to freeze. The pre-capture function even gives you access to images taken before the shutter is released.
The autofocus has a dedicated AI processing unit for an ultra-precise, fast and razor-sharp system. The Sony-renowned detection targets, such as people, animals and vehicles, are tracked across the image. 759 focus points cover 95.6% of the screen, for flawless focus. AF precision down to -5EV offers reliable focus even in low-light conditions. In low-light conditions, you can also count on excellent 8.0-stops, 5-axis, in-body stabilisation. Trust the camera implicitly as you concentrate on taking your images.
Even during video recording, images remain distortion-free at high frame rates. You can shoot 4K 120 fps without any crop. 6K oversampling of 4K 60fps film provides extra resolution when you need it. 10-bit 4:2:2 colour depth and style profiles, such as S-cinetone and S-log3, ensure colours look exactly the way you want them to. For filmmakers who really want to get the most out of their videos, the camera features 16-bit RAW output.
The camera's new ergonomic design improves operability and reduces fatigue during use. The intuitive Quick Response shutter button has been shifted for improved operability. With the new C5 button on the front of the camera and several dials, you can fully adjust the camera to your liking. The 4-axis multi-angle LCD panel ensures your subject consistently stays in optimum view.

The camera lens has new features when it comes to autofocus and other focusing capabilities. This lens features a new autofocus system that makes focusing even faster, more precise and quieter. This is one of the reasons why this lens is ideal for videography. In addition to the new autofocus system, linear focus is possible, so you experience minimal focus breathing during filming.
The minimum focusing distance of the 24-70mm GM2 is key when taking beautiful images. The focusing distance lies between 21 and 30 cm. This is determined by the focal length at which you shoot. With these distances, it is an absolute all-rounder for you as an image maker.
The four XD Linear Motors deliver faster, more accurate focusing. You're also guaranteed never to miss an important moment again when you're on the road, and you have the option to work without a focus puller.
Zoom options at a glanceThis compact zoom lens also boasts new features when it comes to zooming. For instance, you can easily move the zoom ring allowing you to quickly change focal lengths. And that's where the new feature comes in as you can press the smooth tight button, this button makes the zoom ring move less flexibly, making it less easy to move it. This is ideal during macrophotography or videography, for example.

The full frame lens features a rounded aperture with 11 aperture blades, which let you get creative with smooth bokeh.

More than a lens hood
This lens' hood is special. This is because it features a slider that allows you to maintain access to your filter controls, for example a polarisation filter. This eliminates the need to remove the lens hood whenever you want to change filters or switch modes.
Choose your favourite settings
The 2470GM2 has two buttons on the lens that you can customise to your most important settings. This allows you to e.g. switch between autofocus and manual focus with one of the buttons. You can use the other button to switch between silent or incremental adjustment of your aperture with a single click.
