The Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX is a welcome addition to the popular LUMIX S series. This mirrorless camera delivers incredible photo and video performance in an attractive, compact design. Compared to the LUMIX S5II, the LUMIX S5 IIX goes that little bit further for the professional videographer, wrapped in a sleek, matt-black finish. The S5 IIX features a 24-megapixel 35mm full-frame sensor that lets in plenty of light and delivers razor-sharp images. Combined with the advanced image processor, the sensor ensures outstanding image quality for both photo and video.
Reliable autofocus and stabilisation
The redesigned image sensor introduces, for the first time in the LUMIX line-up, hybrid phase-detection autofocus. This hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection with contrast detection for fast, reliable focusing. The new system can easily recognise subjects even in challenging conditions such as low light, and once focus is locked it continues to track the subject across the frame. Continuous autofocus is also available when zooming in, along with AF micro adjustments.
The LUMIX S5 IIX features significantly improved image stabilisation, so you can capture stable, sharp shots even when shooting handheld. Active image stabilisation is particularly useful in demanding situations — such as when using a telephoto lens or filming while walking. It also delivers highly stable video by optimising horizontal, vertical, and rotational correction.
Exceptional video performance
This mirrorless camera offers exceptional video performance on a par with the LUMIX S1H. Shoot in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30fps, and 4:2:2 C4K/4K at 60fps. Recording at a High Frame Rate of up to 120fps and slow motion up to 180fps is straightforward. You can use a variety of colour profiles, including 14+ stop V-Log and V-Gamut. The REAL TIME LUT function lets you upload colour correction LUTs to an SD card and apply them directly in-camera, rather than during post-production.
Built for serious videographers
The S5 IIX pushes even further than the S5II when it comes to video. The LUMIX S5IIX is capable of recording 5.8K Apple ProRes and C4K RAW or All-Intra footage to an SSD or external recorder. The camera supports both wireless and wired IP streaming as well as USB tethering. The S5 IIX records C4K 30p in 4:2:2 10-bit, whereas the S5II records in 4:2:0. 4K S and Q Slow Motion are also recorded on the S5IIX with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling for outstanding colour depth. Professional videographers will appreciate features such as Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope, and Zebra Pattern. System Frequency (24.00Hz) and Synchro Scan further confirm this camera's credentials for professional use.
Excellent photos with minimal workflow
The camera offers a range of features that help you achieve excellent results with minimal workflow. Functions such as AWB lock, MF assist, and a new Live Crop function make for a highly refined shooting experience. An HDMI Type-A port and USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection provide extensive connectivity options. Thanks to Wi-Fi 5GHz, you can also connect wirelessly to smartphones and tablets quickly and reliably. Dual UHS-II memory card slots ensure you always have plenty of storage space.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMW-DMS1E is a high-quality digital shotgun microphone designed for LUMIX mirrorless cameras. This all-in-one microphone is built for content creators and professionals who want maximum audio quality without the need for complex external recorders or cables. Thanks to the direct hot shoe connection, the microphone is powered by the camera and the digital audio signal is sent straight to it.
The DMW-DMS1E features a newly developed large-diameter 10mm microphone array that delivers clear, directional, and natural sound. The internal floating shock mount minimises handling noise during handheld use, while the included windscreen effectively suppresses wind noise. The advanced wind noise reduction system uses float recording technology to reduce wind interference without compressing the original audio.
With six different polar patterns, the microphone adapts to any recording situation. From cardioid and supercardioid for focused voice recording, to stereo and wide stereo for immersive ambient capture. For interviews, there is even a bidirectional mode that clearly captures both the front and rear.
The microphone supports 32-bit float recording (on compatible models), preventing distortion at high sound pressure levels of up to approximately 120 dB. The DMW-DMS1E also features a backup recording function in 4-channel mode, ensuring important audio is always captured safely.
Weighing just 100g and with a compact design, your camera setup stays light and mobile. Physical switches allow for quick operation, while the brightness of the directional indicators is adjustable for use in low-light conditions.
Compatible with the LUMIX S1II, S1RII, S1IIE, S5II, and S5IIX. Firmware update required. Support for the GH7 and G9II will follow via a future firmware update.
